Tuan Van Le recognised by The Best Lawyers in Australia (2025 Edition)

Aptum’s Tuan Van Le (Practice Lead, Tax Disputes) has been included in the 2025 edition of The Best Lawyers in Australia, recognised in the practice areas of Tax Law & Litigation.

Best Lawyers, the oldest peer reviewed guide to the legal professional globally, is based entirely on feedback from lawyers, and is designed to highlight professionals with leading legal expertise, ethics and professionalism. When voting for Best Lawyers nominees, legal professionals consider whether they would refer a case to the nominated lawyers if they were unable to handle it themselves.

Tuan has previously been recognised by Best Lawyers, being included for Tax Law since 2023. This year, Tuan has also been recognised for excellence in Litigation.

In the past 12 months, Tuan has led the execution of significant taxation matters for a range of clients, including advising taxpayers on the defence of recovery action by the ATO for director penalty liabilities of AUD $10.5M arising from a fraudulent GST scheme, and advising a taxpayer in a Federal Court proceeding who was assessed as a default beneficiary of a family trust for approximately USD $90M that passed through Australia to foreign countries.

This latest recognition for Tuan follows a legal career in tax, insolvency and commercial litigation spanning more than 16 years, in which he has been the Executive Director of the ATO’s litigation department and a Judicial Registrar of the Federal Court of Australia.
