AI Legal Assistant / Paralegal

With artificial intelligence (AI) presenting possibilities to renovate the legal profession’s workflow processes, client experience, data utilisation, and access to justice, we are looking for someone who is enthusiastic about driving the evolution of legal practice with AI.

In the setting of complex legal disputes, with access to our AI environment you’ll learn how to leverage the benefits of AI, explore new tools, grapple with the risks, and earn a deeper understanding of this evolving technology. Alongside your developmental work, apply your learnings in live disputes by assisting legal teams with research and support tasks.

This unique role enables you to combine your interests in law and technology, providing hands-on experience in a professional environment. This is a casual role requiring one-day per week. If you’re ready to make a real impact in this space, we want to hear from you.

  • What you will do
    • Develop and implement Microsoft Co-Pilot agents to improve legal processes such as research, file management and document drafting.
    • Utilise AI tools to analyse large volumes of legal data, identifying patterns and insights that can improve operational processes and legal strategies.
    • Use AI-powered research tools to quickly find relevant case law and legal precedents.
    • Keep up to date with the latest advancements in AI and legal technology to continuously improve the firm’s capabilities.
    • Assist in communicating with clients, explaining how AI tools are being used to support their cases and improve outcomes.
    • Regularly assess the performance of AI tools and make adjustments to improve accuracy and efficiency.
    • Help create and implement policies and best practices for the ethical use of AI in legal practice.
    • Support legal teams with tasks such as niche legal research to support complex commercial and tax disputes.
  • Who are we looking for?

    • are students in a law degree, with a technology related field of study also favourable
    • share our passion for challenging accepted norms in the legal industry
    • are available one day per week, working from our Melbourne office
