Following a year of strong performance and growth, Aptum has been nominated for four industry awards, including taking out Gold Winner for Boutique Firm of the Year at the 2021 Australasian Law Awards.

Aptum’s award for Boutique Firm of the Year (Gold Winner) at the 2021 Australasian Law Awards recognises excellence in client service and specialist expertise during the 2020 calendar year. The judges commented, “[Aptum is an] Innovative player in the market seeking to build a niche as a true boutique firm. It was great to see the innovation being demonstrated within this boutique firm – offering a true alternative to full scale litigation.”

Nigel Evans, Managing Director at Aptum, was thrilled to receive this award for its recognition of Aptum’s staff. “It’s terrific to see the Aptum staff acknowledged for the excellence we delivered to clients in such a challenging year.”

Nigel also reflected on the satisfaction of Aptum delivering on its founding vision to create a unique approach that delivers more effective outcomes and better experiences for clients in commercial litigation.

“The greatest fun of Aptum comes from our continued change and growth to deliver on our vision, which the entire Aptum team has worked extremely hard to achieve for our clients.”

At the 2021 Lawyers Weekly Australian Law Awards, Aptum was awarded NewLaw Firm of the Year (Finalist) and Innovator of the Year (Company) (Finalist). The Australian Law Awards is the pinnacle event in Australia for recognising and rewarding legal professionals.

The category of NewLaw Firm of the Year awards outstanding performance by a NewLaw Firm in FY20-21. Aptum understands NewLaw as the idea that old problems in the law can be better served with different design thinking to create positive experiences and effective outcomes for clients, which we are thrilled to be acknowledged for.

This is the second year running Aptum has received a nomination for Innovator of the Year (Company), which recognises firms and legal departments that have successfully implemented innovative projects and/ or initiatives in FY20-21. This award represents the work that is being done to execute on Aptum’s vision, which is fantastic recognition for all Aptum staff and in particular David Adason, Aptum’s Head of Innovation, who continues to search for new ways to develop and evolve Aptum’s delivery of litigation services – such as our project management framework.

Finally, Nigel Evans’ contribution to Aptum’s success as Managing Director has seen him named as a Finalist for Litigation Partner of the Year at the 2021 Partner of the Year Awards. The Partner of the Year Awards recognises and rewards lawyers at the height of their careers, noting their outstanding achievements, leadership, technical expertise, mentorship, and business development skills.

Since founding Aptum, Nigel has been at the forefront of change in litigation, leading the development of Aptum’s unique model. Nigel’s leadership, his philosophy for continuous improvement, his consistent excellence in dispute resolution, and his deep sense of empathy and principle that guides the entire Aptum team, has been essential to the firm’s success.

In response to the positive feedback Aptum has received thus far in 2021, Nigel said, “I must thank everyone who continually supports Aptum and contributes to our success; our clients and partners, and most importantly our tremendous staff. The acknowledgment is encouraging, and we will continue to evolve our practice and push the fold to take Aptum to new levels for our clients.”
